Description
The purpose of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills they need to serve as effective EEO Investigators. This course satisfies the EEOC requirements for New EEO Investigators as dictated by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) as presented in Management Directive 110 and 29 CFR Part 1614 .
The Equal  Employment Opportunity Commission requires that new EEO Investigator, receive a minimum of thirty-two (32) hours of EEO Investigative training prior to assuming investigator’s duties.  Management Directive 110.
In this training students are introduce  to the investigative tools and techniques they will use as an Investigators in order to collect and discover factual information during informal discrimination complaints.
What is covered:
- Basics of EEO law and legal theories
- Federal‑sector EEO process pursuant to 29 C.F.R. Part 1614
- Models of proof in employment discrimination and harassment cases
- Gathering and analyzing evidence under the appropriate theory of discrimination
- Elements of disability discrimination and harassment cases
- Planning an EEO investigation
- Investigative methods, including Requests for Information to obtain documents and medical information
- Developing an impartial and appropriate factual investigative record
- Drafting an investigative summary
