Short Course Description
Tort lawsuits are a frequent occurrence in the American legal arena. Courts often ordered the parties to mediation which includes statutory mediation of some matters prior to trial. Often court systems, in an effort to eliminate some trials, impose mandatory mediation as part of the litigation process.
Civil cases mediators can expect to spend a substantial amount of their time serving parties who are bringing or defending tort lawsuits. In this presentation, we will describe the basis of tort law, defines tort, and introduces three basic categories of torts, intentional torts, negligence, and cyber torts, and strict liability. We will close with a discussion on product liability theories and their defenses and consumer law.

Excellent overview. However, it has audio defects where the sound is missing around the middle and at the end.
Loved the format of the Slides
I had thought this would address the issues to be dealt with in mediation, particularly settlement of tort cases. It is a survey of tort law, which is very good, but just not what I was expecting.
Very good overall treatment of the subject matter.
