This course is a self-paced, interactive course and it is eligible for 4CME Ethics or 4CME General. Presenter discusses how mediators can use basic contract terms and theories during conferencing, without violating the disputing parties the right to self-determination, and mediator’s ethics rules (MEAC). Main discussions: MEAC Opinions, Florid Rules for Court Appointed Mediators and Certified Mediators, Open and Close questioning suggestion during Joint sessions and Caucus; Contract agreements as a second agreement to the first contract or agreement. Additionally, the presenter introduces the Doctrines of “Impossibly”,” Impracticability “and the doctrine of Contract “Frustration” for a discussion during the conference.

Mediation training courses cover mediation technique to improve mediation skills or legal subject matter to improve a mediator’s legal knowledge. This course does the latter and does it well. Too basic – more of a contracts course than a mediators course.
The poor grammar on the quiz made a few of the questions difficult to understand.
