The presentation gives a clear perspective and a better understanding of the increase in domestic violence cases during the COVID-19 pandemic. Domestic violence has increased amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It is imperative to understand not only that domestic violence has increased during this pandemic, but also how unequal gender relations have played a role in such an impact. Moreover, it is important to acquire some basic knowledge of the behaviors and actions that fall under the domestic violence umbrella, as well as the elements that, when combined, can help generate domestic violence, which can increase this family violence acts during a pandemic. Furthermore, the manifestation of unequal gender relations during the COVID-19 pandemic can greatly exacerbate the already negative conditions resulting from this pandemic. Understanding the impact of the increase of domestic violence during the COVID-19 pandemic is fundamental for developing and improving policies as well as creating suitable action plans.

    I found this course to be very repetitive, as many slides were discussed more than once. It felt like the lecturer was reading straight from her notes. I’m sure the lecturer was knowledgeable in this area, but she was not able to engage the listener and/or hold the listener’s attention very well.
