A 40-hour federal supervisor and manager program addressing the first-year transition, recurring supervisory development, performance, coaching, employee relations, EEO and accommodation boundaries, conflict, change, resources, and a supervisory capstone.

New and experienced federal supervisors, managers, acting supervisors, and employees making a critical transition into management.

Program Details

  • Total program time: 40 hours
  • Delivery: Instructor-guided cohort: 8 online + 32 live hours
  • Instructor: ADR Academy / Guno O. Ritfeld and approved faculty, as assigned
  • Passing standard: 80 percent plus all required work products
  • Certificate: Issued after all completion requirements are verified

  • Make the transition from employee to supervisor within lawful role boundaries.
  • Set expectations, monitor results, coach employees, and conduct defensible appraisals.
  • Recognize performance, conduct, EEO, accommodation, labor, and employee-relations issues and consult the proper officials.
  • Complete a measurable supervisory impact project and 90-day operating plan.

  • EEO, Accommodation, Labor and Employee Relations, and ADR
  • Conflict, Engagement, Teams, and Change
  • Resources, Technology, Strategic Execution, and Supervisory Capstone

Delivery and Completion

  • Complete all eight modules and eight required applied work products.
  • Pass every module knowledge check and the final assessment with at least 80 percent.
  • Satisfy the active online-learning time and submit the course evaluation.
  • Complete 32 instructor-led hours, required participation, role play/capstone, feedback, and instructor evaluation.
