Workplace Mediation Certificate Program 5 Day Program

This intensive 40 hours program is designed to develop qualified students as Employment/Labor Law Mediators armed with knowledge and skills essential for successful employment mediation. A comprehensive blend of substantive law and training in mediation skills prepares participants to become qualified mediators for employment disputes.The program has two main focus. The first three modules focus on substantive employment and labor laws. The remaining modules focus on meditation practices and related rules and policies. The course ends with practical exercises and a final quiz.  The Employment Law Mediator Training program focuses first on employment law that is applicable to employment mediation. Secondly, on an in-depth study on mediation and role-playing to help you learn and practice the skills to facilitate the process. Participants will be expected to complete reading and homework assignments.

THE INSTRUCTORS

Guno Ritfeld, JD

Mr. Ritfeld is a retired Department of Defense Commissioned officer and is a Florida Supreme Court certified County, Family mediator and an Approved Arbitrator.  He has earned his Juris Prudence degree with special emphasis in Employment, Labor and Education law.

Mr. Ritfeld is the founder of Resolute Mediation & Arbitration, Inc and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Academy, established in 2005.  He serves as a Financial Arbitrator for FINRA and as a Mediator and Arbitrator for RM&A.  He has received extensive training and has years of experience in various styles of mediation to include Facilitative and Transformative Mediation. Throughout his 20 years dispute resolution career, Mr. Ritfeld has served as a panel member of the City of Orlando, Chapter 57, Discrimination Board and has meditated and arbitrated disputes in various sizes and complexity.

Natalie Smith, MBA

Natalie works with Resolute Mediation & Arbitration and ADRA as an instructor, mediator and case manager. She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family & County Mediator and completed Florida’s Arbitration Training. Natalie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communication and a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Natalie has previously been a volunteer mediator for UCF’s Dispute Resolution Services office and worked for the American Arbitration Association as their Regional Liaison helping to facilitate mediation and arbitration panels.
